Transforming Amarok’s website to reflect their epic guided tours.
OVERVIEW
Amarok Adventures is an Icelandic travel agency that offers unique expedition tours worldwide. As demand for their tours increased, bookings surged on partner websites. However, their DIY website was underperforming and not effectively supporting their growing business. They needed an updated, user-friendly website to serve as the primary hub for booking tours and providing information.
I was tasked with revamping their website to create a modern, engaging, and functional platform that leverages their high-quality content. Through close collaboration and a shared vision, the new website was launched in Summer 2023.

Immersive homepage
The goal was to create a visually captivating homepage that immerses users in Amarok’s tours from the outset. It prominently features photos, videos, and stories created by the Amarok team, offering various entry points like tour cards, testimonials, and a journal to showcase their offerings. We iterated our way to a layout that ensures that experience is both engaging and functional as Amarok continues to expand their offerings.
Story-driven tour details template
We created a narrative-driven tour details page to highlight the uniqueness of each tour while providing the practical info on accommodation, food, and daily itineraries to address common traveler questions. The result is a clearly structured template page that works for all tours, streamlining the creation process while effectively engaging and converting users with minimal friction.
Building trust
Given the intensive and premium nature of the tours , we aimed to build trust by bringing our guides, co-founders Alberto and Monica, closer to the users. We did this with a blog showcasing their expertise, travel experiences, and connection with local communities. Additionally, an “About” page was created to articulate their philosophy, values, and background.
